The Mizen family joined us at Cossington last week for a family holiday. For a family activity day, they booked a Print-Making Workshop with Cossington team member Pete Borg.

The Old Kitchen and Pantry Breakfast room provided the perfect setting for a day of creativity for the whole family.

Older family members first had the chance to design and make some Foil Embossed Collagraph blocks. These were then inked & printed using a portable printing press.

Younger family members created their own plasticine print blocks. Blocks were created by rolling out plasticine and cutting individual blocks with cookie cutters. Different shapes and objects were then pressed into the plasticine to create the blocks.

The print-making workshop was a great success. The whole family got involved in the different activities and everyone had the chance to create their own prints to take away at the end of the day.

Here are a few lovely comments from the family.

“We all thoroughly enjoyed Pete’s workshop. He had put a huge amount into planning the morning. Everyone was so enthusiastic that we had another afternoon session to complete our items.

It was a highlight of the weekend for us!”

“Thanks Pete, we really enjoyed it – it was great entertainment for all ages!”

“Thanks Pete. It was a wonderful session and so much fun to learn something new.”
