Cossington Park Cottage has been rated by Visit England to National Accessibility Level M2. This rating means that the cottage is suitable for older individuals, those with limited mobility, and part-time wheelchair users.
How Cossington Park House offers an accessible holiday to all:
Accessible Parking
We provide ample parking space near the entrance of the property, allowing for easy unloading of vehicles. There is also level access from the parking area to the property entrance.
Level access downstairs
On the ground floor, there is level access via the Hallway to the Old Drawing Room, Morning Room, Pantry Breakfast Room, downstairs cloakroom, and Library Dining Room.
There is also level access between the Old Drawing Room and Conservatory, and from the Conservatory into the main garden.
Access with step downstairs
There is a step between the hall and Old Kitchen, and the Old Kitchen and Pantry Breakfast Room.
Upstairs accommodation
All 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms are on the first floor.
The upstairs is accessible from two staircases with handrails. One is located in the front hall; the other is in the corridor just beyond the hall.
The Chaucer, Nursery, and Trusty Servant bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms are located on this level.
A small flight of six steps leads to an upper level, where the Pump Room, Cobbler and Jolly Monks bedrooms, Great Tom bathroom, and family bathroom are located.
Accessibility in the garden and grounds
The main garden of Park House is a large, level grassed area with level paths leading to the rest of the grounds, including the walled vegetable garden, orchard, meadow, games field, and children’s play area.
For guests renting the whole Estate, the path to Cossington Park House from Park Cottage has been recently resurfaced and is suitable for wheelchair users.
Cossington Park Cottage – Accessibility
Park Cottage is fully accessible and rated to Accessibility Level M2. This means that the accommodation is suitable for guests with restricted mobility who may need to use a wheelchair.
Accessible Parking
Parking is close to the entrance of Park Cottage, with plenty of space available for easy unloading. A permanent ramp leads to the Cottage door.
Accessible downstairs accommodation
The ground floor of Park Cottage is completely level with wooden floors throughout.
The spacious open-plan Kitchen/Living/Dining area has bifold doors which can be fully opened onto the garden.
There is a comfortable downstairs bedroom and a wheelchair-accessible wet room with a walk-in shower.
Upstairs accommodation
The two upstairs bedrooms and bathroom are accessible via a staircase with a handrail.
Accessibility in the garden and grounds
There is level decking with seating immediately outside the living area of Park Cottage with a permanent ramp leading down into the private walled garden.
There are accessible, level paths leading to the main gardens, games field, and children’s play area.
For guests renting the whole Estate, the path to Park House has been recently resurfaced and is suitable for wheelchair users.

Service dogs
Cossington Park is a dog-friendly property. You’re more than welcome to bring your family pets, including service dogs, when you stay with us. There is a charge for non-service dogs.
Accessibility equipment
We can provide a range of accessibility equipment when you stay with us, including shower chairs, toilet raisers, and bed raisers. We also have a wheelchair available for guests.
Just let us know your requirements when you book, and any equipment will be left in your accommodation ready for your arrival.
We don’t provide more specialist items such as hoists but can provide details of local companies where you can hire these.
